E is For Explore

All I can say is this blog is awesome. Most of the activities involve higher level thinking skills and include printables.  I found many to put in my math workstations.  It is worth the time to check it out.  I pinned at least 10 ideas for my kiddos.

E is For Explore

And the activities align to the Common Core.  Even Better!
Pour a cup of tea and have fun.

ABCYA.com A Must Know Site

Do you the website www.abcya.com ? If not, you should.  It is an awesome resource for your students.  It is organized by grade level and subject area to make it really easy to navigate for all ages.  My students love it because the graphics are a lot like video games.  And who doesn't love a site that makes students think while  having fun?  My favorite is the math section, but there are great logic games too.  I usually connect the logic games to making inferences... like think about what you already know to make a smart guess. Be sure to click through the higher grades too.  I found my second graders can do things on the fourth grade level. We used Word Clouds to make a cover for our autobiographies.  Have fun!

List of Logic Links for Gifted Students

Having gifted students and regular education students together often leaves me with the task of differentiating most of my daily teaching.  I am constantly searching for resources to help add to the depth and complexity of the common core standards without accelerating my students too far ahead.  A Great Day To Learn is a site I recently stumbled upon.  Mrs. Venosdale thinks outside the box to provide authentic experiences for her students.  Here is a direct link to an awesome list of thinking and logic games.  Check her out.

Dr. Seuss Pinterest Finds

Oh Pinterest.  You are so helpful but quite addicting!
Check out what I am pinning for Read Across America Week.  There was no link to a page for the first one.  If you know who it belongs to, please let me know! I love it!

How cute and easy is this

Not sure we could serve this to the students, but why not bring it in for fellow teachers?
Also perfect for my son's lunch!

  Perfect for March 2nd!

My principal has organized "Seuss Olympics" for the teachers,
so I'll be in sweats, although this is much nicer!

What are you thankful for Linky Party

I'm Linking up!  Are you?
Rachelle at What a Teacher Wants has started a Thanksgiving Linky!  Head over there now and take the time out of your busy bloggy life and reflect on what is special in your life.

What are you thankful for in the classroom?
A group of 19 wonderful seven and eight year olds.  Although there are some issues here and there, there are no major behavior problems in our classroom this year.  All of my students are motivated and enthusiastic to learn!

What person are you most thankful for?
Uh, impossible to answer.  In no particular order… my husband, three amazing and beautiful children, and my mom.

What 3 blogs are thankful for?

Confessions of a Homeschooler- the first blog I was hooked on while on maternity leave.  Awesome homeschool mom with everything from preschool to about fourth grade.  I've used many of her hands on ideas with my boys at home.
Ashleigh's Education Journal- I just like her teaching style.  She makes valuable materials cute.  Check her out if you haven't yet!
Me and My Gang-  Who wouldn't love a blog that links other awesome blogs you already read?  Talk about saving time and energy!

I am also thankful for my health and happiness and the health and happiness of my family.  I take neither for granted and thank God every day for the little bits of magic that happen in my life everyday.  I am very blessed.
